Bergamot Essential Oil
With its fresh citrus scent, Bergamot Essential Oil is a favorite in aromatherapy.
Bergamot provides a good starting point for those new to aromatherapy and essential oils. It can be used in burners or vaporizers, blended into massage oil or diluted in a bath. It can also be blended into a base cream for topical application.
Bergamot Essential Oil offers a host of health benefits including the following:
- Emotional well-being - create a more relaxed and happy feeling when you use Bergamot oil to treat depression (including Seasonal Affective Disorder "SAD"), stress, tension, fear and hysteria. Have trouble sleeping? It's good for insomnia, too.
- Anti-infection - useful for treating all infections including all skin infections, urinary tract infections and inflammations such as cystitis
- Organ booster - Bergamot oil has been known to boost the function of the liver, spleen and stomach.
- Skin care - fight any number of skin ailments including oily skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema and cold sores. It can also be used to treat chicken pox and wounds.
It also 'plays nice' with other essential oils, pairing nicely with black pepper, clary sage, cypress, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, mandarin, nutmeg, orange, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver and ylang-ylang just to name a few.
Aromatherapy-grade, meticulously extracted from plants by cold pressing
In other words, this is the "good stuff." These 100% natural essential oils are scientifically tested for purity and contain no chemical solvents, added alcohol or other extenders.
The "Small Print" on Bergamot Essential Oil
Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours if you use this oil on the skin. Bergamot essential oil is considered photo-toxic and can cause burns to those with sensitive skin if applied and then exposed to sunlight. Like any essential oil, follow the guidance of your alternative health care practitioner or aroma therapist before using this fragrance.
