Most species of the North American bat are insectivores, eating from 1,500 to 7,000 insects a night (depending on size)! Who needs toxic pesticides with these little guys around? Bring ‘em on!

The bat house kit when built includes an echolocation slot to help the bats locate the cavity.

The cavity is open at the bottom, to minimize cleaning and prevent bird-nesting. Designed to be an educational tool for youngsters, but adults will surely be fascinated as well.

The bat house kit assembles in minutes with a phillips screwdriver and a hammer.

Comes with easy-to-follow instructions and information about bats.

Natural Insect Control
The latest research shows that the most successful bat houses are mounted on poles or buildings 12 -15 feet off the ground and near a water source such as a pond or pool. You’ll know you've gone batty by guano (bat droppings) on the ground. Remember that bats are nature’s natural insect controllers – they're great to have around!

The bat house kit is made from eastern white pine, a second growth tree, the construction is sturdy and durable.

No paints or stains are used, as these can be toxic to bats. The pine will weather nicely to a silver gray, blending in with the outdoor environment. The bat house walls are thick to keep the interior warm.
